Indoor and
Cross Training

VALR supports treadmill runs by allowing you to set your workout for a “Run Indoors.” If you are capturing heart rate data, VALR will record your workout volume (measured in minutes) and give you heart rate feedback during your run. GPS will be disabled for indoor treadmill runs.

If you choose to perform your Challenge Set indoors, set your treadmill for a 1% grade to more accurately simulate outdoor running conditions.

You can also use VALR to track your effort and volume during other types of activities by selecting Cross Train workouts. For these workouts, you won’t see zone information displayed since your VALR‐calculated zones are optimized for running. The app will, however, give you volume credit toward your campaign for the first Cross Train workout you complete each week.
